It means that bots allowed you to farm items without actually playing the game. And don't give me more jargon about how bots aren't mods. You know what my point is.

As opposed to banning the farmers accounts (or in some cases just wiping the $$$ from them), and putting them in an even worse position?

What is your argument here exactly..?

Seriously, that's pretty much exactly what he's saying. "Yes we know the problem exists. We're cool with it. Our games are awesome. Buy them."
I agree 100%. This is sick. I have long been a fan of most Blizzard games. But I started to realized quite a few years ago how sick and twisted this company really is.

For one, they charge for absolutely everything... Monthly fees, character transfers, name changes, you name it. On top of that, they began to exploit the "vanity collecting" aspect of WoW by creating a Pet Store on the online Blizzard Store. Charging for pets and mounts, it started getting ridiculous. This is where my eyes really opened, what won't these guys do for money.

Now this Diablo 3 real money AH is the epitome of not only greed, but contradiction and hypocrisy. They have long been famous for standing up against currency manipulators and gold farmers. Constant threats of bans/suspensions, and encouraging players to never visit any gold farming websites as it is against the EULA and ruins the in-game economy. They could care less about the goddamn economy in WoW, they were just mad they weren't getting their share of the profits. Now they condone this exact behavior in D3?

I wonder why... Oh yeah, they are getting their cut by charging listing fees. This ***** is sick!

If Blizzard isn't the most crooked and greedy video game developer around, please tell me who is.

Sure they charge for various things within their games but you make it sound like they are forcing you to spend your money. Some people are perfectly willing to spend a few bucks to get a pet or w/e in WoW or for a name change etc. If these people are willing to spend the cash and it doesn't effect you then why do you care?

I've already mentioned what feels like 100 times that there is another auction house that uses in-game gold. No one is forcing you to spend money that you don't want to spend. Just buy the game and play it as you wish or don't buy it at all.

Your point is valid, and I think most people complaining will buy the game and just ignore the $ AH, but it's more than that. The mere fact that Blizzard is stooping to this level is what is upsetting a lot of people.

Sure thats fine and I understand that. Its just dumb, at least in my opinion, that people let things like this bother them when it does not effect them at all.

Thing is, it effects people in ways outside of the game. Game companies are no longer merry bands of rebels that didn't get a "real" job and are making games for the love of it, ie: early Blizzard or id software, but multimillion dollar corperations.

Corperations that will do anything that is deemed acceptable to turn a profit. They're like a child, constantly probing what is acceptable, it's only when profit is in danger that they will back down from something.

So it's not only about how it effects ones Diablo3 gameplay right now, but in a broader sense.

I think it actually does affect just about everyone.

It takes away a fundamental aspect of any RPG style game in that it diminishes the level of accomplishment the common, everyday player receives by mitigating the sense of achievement they receive from finally getting that "rare" piece of loot that they've grinded hours for.

Example 1:

Player 1: "Man, I finally got that awesome piece of gear. It took me like 25 boss kills and like 12 hours to finally get that damn thing to drop!"
Player 2: "Seriously man? Why didn't you just buy it from the AH for 2.50$. You could've saved yourself a lot of time."
Player 1: "Way the heck? Way to crap on all the effort I put man."

Now, let's apply this to say Warcraft, currently the most popular MMO.

Example 2:

Player 1: "Man, it took my 25 man guild like 6 weeks but we finally killed hardmode Arthus and get that sword that only has like a 3% to drop."
Player 2: "Why would you waste your time doing that? You could've just bought it off the AH for like 15 bucks and saved yourself the trouble."
Player 1: "What the heck? Way to crap on all the effort I put man."
