Eyefinity Issues

Thread Starter
First time trying to set up Eyefinity with my ati 6870. Using Generic Pnp monitors, using both Dvi ports. First monitor works but second monitor isn't detected. I tried 2nd port with both monitors and neither of them get a signal.
CCC only detects 1 monitor. Ive rebooted and im currently running 11.5 drivers.
Not sure where i might be going wrong. No issues with GPU since purchase 2 months ago.

One of the dvi ports is tied to the hdmi port. Are you using a display port also?

Hi Bugs, flopper is right if you take a look at the DVI outputs on your card you should see 'VGA' next to one, therefore the other DVI port requires a digital connection.

Thats correct! The top port does say VGA next to it but not the bottom. Sooooo what cables would i need to run the other Monitor?

Hi Bugs. So you have explained how you tried to connect these two displays, but how about your third monitor, how are you currently trying to connect it? With the XFX 6870 you should have dual mini-Display Ports, dual DVI and a HDMI. Is that right?

If so you will need to connect a display using one of the mini-Display Port connections, then your other two displays can be connected using a mix of two of the following: HDMI, the other mini-Display Port, a pure DVI connection or possibly a DVI-VGA connection on the other DVI port (the one with 'VGA' next to it).

Hope that makes sense :-/

Harry @ Videocardshop.
