750i motherboard. slow computer

Thread Starter
got a e173 evga 750i motherboard. got bios setup as in a post here for most of the settings. i didn't do any overlocking though. set everything manually.
i have ram set to linked, and sycn mode. fsb is 1066 i have a e6600 2.4ghz.

i used to have a gigabyte ep35 that ran too hot. i could set fsb to 400mhz, ddr2 800 ram to 800, just the voltages with all the bios settings turned off, would run 1.8 volt ram at 1.9 so to set it overclocked, it would show in windows. 1.9, i would just set no overclock on ram in bios. i turned off all the voltage stuff in bios, undervolting, and overvolting. anyway, bad board, and even with everything set it ran hot. but it ran 400 fsb with 7x multiplier, 2.8 ghz stable.

well, so this board will boot up, with a little extra volt, on the fsb,a nd cpu to 1333 or 667 fsb, and i set the ram to linked, and sync, so ram is running at 1333, or 667 ram speed. anyway my computers running slow and i want to fix it. it running slow, and in everest, i got a newer version, i done some benchmarks, i can't remember, thou for sure. o

2.4gh and 2.6gh and if it had a 6.5x fsb could be 400. 6x for 2.4. benchmarks i was goign against, gigabyte p35 board. dont' remmeber bus speeds. fsb. i remember having it at 7x and 400fsb. ddr2 800. i ran it at that, 2.8ghz. same ram i think. well.
2.4ghz and 2.4, and 2.6ghz is im benching and results, its old bench, new board. yea every drivers fine, and the bios is going good, whats without vdroop? and this board has a pencil shade mod, or the ftw version does. c1e, off, i set it to gaming on one thing.

memory scores are almost 2 times old scores, on 2.4gh and 2.6, there not far from each other. this scores are at least .60 more. the computer scores, are 3/5 less. cpu-z was showing 1.6ghz before i turned off c1e, i did turn it off and it was getting low scores, i seen cpu-z, everest showed 2.4, when i had stock speed. 1066mhz fsb, then cpu-z showed 1.6ghz, stuff, and 6x multi. showed good memory scores, not much different than cpu-z showing 2.4ghz, and 1066mhz. and everest showing that too. and cpu scores losing, 3/5. like 5000 and 3000. score. memory scores, and cpu scores.

computer would crash, thought the voltage had dropped too low. i turned off vdroop. i seen in everest voltages showing lower than 1.325v, showing up, like 1.29. i turned without vdroop. cpu-z is showing 1.312 volts, i think in bios, cpu core is 1.34. computers stock fsb and multi. cpu-z shows 2.4ghz 1066mhz. it's not even getting hardly half the computer score, benched to this. everest,
is showing cpu core at 1.31 volt.

my computer's slow?

Need to get that CPU over 3Ghz and use more voltage on the CPU. You might wanna aim around the 1.4v mark.

Nvidia chipsets don't perform as well as Intel chipsets. When i had my Q9450 my max Gflops was 37, and that turned out to be at an unstable overclock. Q9450's at a similar overclock on a P35 chipset were turning out mid-40's in Gflops performance. Push for a higher overclock, but no matter what you do, your 750i will be inferior performance wise in comparison to your P35.

the P35 and P45 are Intel chips, the 750i is Nvidia. Do a search for your MB and you will find a solution.

nvidia? intel? what use an nvidia processor? and what search would i do? slow computer, 750i?
im gonna try a 3dmark and see what it says. i mean, my memory, maybe a pic or some numbers,
like right now, my cpu is 42C then each core is 37C? the cpu voltage is showing 1.31 when i got it to 1.37 i think in bios, but it keeps setting everything to what i dont set it to.

scores, 10,000 2.4ghz p35 4890 2.4ghz 750i. CPU queen score.
memory score,
i dont know if setting ram to sync instead of the performance setting at ddr2 800 its at 533, timings are set. but memory scores dropped, memory latency, 84.8, 76.1 p35, 750i. i think there was a 63 before.

ok. this is weird. how do you enable logical processors. my old results show 1\\2 physical / logical processors. this result 1/1. in bios it says disable, cpu core. and theres one and it's the second one.

dont know what to do. it says cpu core and disable. its lit up the second one.

so my score is higher, i got a better benchmark, in 3dmark 03.
video's higher, could be drivers.
cpus lower. could be drivers, something. maybe the core of my processor isn't unlocked? i dont know how to turn it on. i dont know if 3dmarks wrong, that'd make it slower thou, wel.. where would i look to see if my cpu core is enabled? taskmanager lets me put it on one core, or a program. does taskmanager, i right click and theres no putting it on one core. does it do that for anyone else? xp sp2. you can pick the core,

i found out a core was turned off. followed directions somewhere of replacing system files, out of sp3.cab, and renaming old files, had to do some manually, and got the core back. whats wrong with 03, it runs dx9, which is what games run on xp. and it isn't like it's not a good test. anyway, so i guess ill just go thru the pencil mod, vdroop whatever that is, all that stuff. at least the 03 runs like agame.

i couldn't set affinity in task manager. i have two cores, so i had to find the other. like to get this to 400fsb and run it at highest bus and lower the multiplier. fsb voltage, ive upped. dont know, which temp it is. it crashes, at stock core clock, with anything ive went to, after a while anyway.

If you are experiencing problems with your PC such as a Slow Computer or a technical problem that you need assistance with, what I suggest is to go to 411pc.com which provides simple answers and solutions to all technical questions & problems. In case they don’t have the answer on their site, they usually tend to search for the best solution, tackle that problem and solve it, then post a step-by-step solution on the site 411pc.com

Good Luck

750i's are the worst out the 600/700i series chipsets. I use a 750a Chipset and it's great
