Wont recognize HD in Hot Swap bay.

Ok, So I have the CM 690 II Advanced with the SATA HD hot swap thing on top. So I slid my HD on, and the computer isn't recognizing it.

It did show up before I added a new SSD drive, so I am under the impression it is wired correctly, also the little HD light turns on on the case when I plug it in. Not that that means anything, but still.

Any idea why Win 7 wouldn't notice it's there? Would switching everything to AHCI mode be an issue?

Ok, So I took her off. Opened her up, and plugged her in manually. Just, outside my rig with cable laying all over my floor. Anyways, moral of the story, the computer still didn't recognize it. It is formatted, has stuff on it, was working not long ago. Any ideas?

I sort of had the same problem with my Corsair 800D. I have my SSD drive with the OS on it hooked up to an internal bay and have my 1TB HDD in the hot swap bays. When I took my SSD and put it in one of the other hot swap bays, it wouldnt recognize it at all but when I removed the 1TB HDD it recognized the SSD without a problem. I might be wrong but i figure it has something to do with the circuit board that connects all the hot swap bays. Are they are other hard drives hooked up to your hot swap bays?

EDIT: I didnt see your 2nd post. If you hooked it up to a completely different port and it still didnt recognize it, then I have no clue.

Yup, That's where I'm at. I do have a 1tb system HD installed with my SSD. No biggie, it shows up fine, just when trying to add my third... no luck.

Did you enable AHCI? AHCI enables hard drive plug and play within the OS. IDE won't recognize the drive until after a reboot.

Btw... HD isnt making any noise... If its not recognized by the bios does it not spin up?

Or, is it possible my like 6 week old HD is dead?

Check the power connection to the PSU, if it still dosent work, remove the top panel, gently of course, and check the connection to the PCB attached to the case, they are pretty weak, maybe you ripped them accidentally.
If nothing works try an internal connection.

That is possible that it is dead. I would think it would spin once it gets some power to it, not keep on spinning but at least for a second or 2 but I could be wrong though.
