Took me some time to meld with it as well after coming from Mass Effect, but when you do, you'll be glad.

It has excellent character development and the story really engages you and makes you feel like you're being pulled into an epic finale.

Do not touch DA2. Your assumptions on the demo were perfectly valid. It only gets worse in full version.
Huh.... well then I will def. be giving the first one a try and going from there... I still have hopes for Deus Ex. But, until then I will start with DA and see what I think . One thing I liked about Mass Effect 2 was... well everything, but I forgot to mention the differing environments. It isn't all gloom and doom...

Thanks guys...

RP post back here after you try DA:Origins. You and I have very similar tastes and I've been looking for another ME2 as well. Haven't played DA:Origins but would give it a go if you think it compares with ME2.

Oh, and I think you mentioned Witcher 2 above. That's what I'm playing now. Frankly I don't like it as much as ME2 but it's pretty good. It takes a while to get sucked in, but if you invest the time it starts to pay off. I still haven't finished it but it gets good in ch.1-2.
