M4 or OCZ Solid 3 suggestions

Thread Starter
Crucial M4 CT064M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
or
OCZ Solid 3 SLD3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC OCZ Solid 3 SLD3-25SAT3-120G 2.5" MLC

Basically the M4 is $120 and the OCZ is $160 so a $40 difference for twice the size. Any reasons not to get the OCZ? Thanks.

Well the Sandforce driver the OCZ uses was causing BSOD's and A LOT of problems. I don't know if it's fixed now but I haven't heard of one problem with a M4

So you think it would be better just to go with half the size for less chance of problems?

Yes. They did that because people stopped buying it after all that bad press with the Sandforce 3.

$70 less than the Solid 3 gets you a Crucial M4 64GB, $49 more gets you a Crucial M4 128GB. Either way, get the Crucial M4. The new Sandforce based drives are having a lot of problems, especially the cheaper ones like the Solid 3. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the M4, and Crucial's customer support is pretty good.
