Another Reason Not To Buy Diablo 3...(no skill tree/stat points)

I am extremely sad to see and hear this, I almost didn't believe it until i saw this and confirmed it.

What do you guys think about this? instead of removing it they should of enhanced it even more or improve on it. Little by little I am somehow finding reasons to hate diablo 3 which still shocks me to even say those words.

They need to kick/remove all the WoW tards developers and team and bring back the original guys from d1-2, specially with the atmosphere of diablo 1.( no offense to WoW just 2 separate games that need to stay that way.)

man this new generation of gaming sucks i want my old school snes->ps2/pc days back when company cared for people and put pride in their work; also not believe everyone in the world that plays games has low IQ or attention span.

I have seen a lot of crappy things about this game lately, but tbh, I'm still going to buy it. I've waited this long for it that I don't know if Blizzard could screw something up bad enough for me not to get it.

This is just a massive disappointment... frown.gif

This is just like playing Halo2, and Halo3. A LOT of people were pissed off and kept playing Halo2. This game should NOT be like it is, Diablo2 will remain highly populated even when this game comes out. I'd put money on that!

I can't say that no skill points/tree is the reason behind my decision to cancel the pre-order I had. It is however one of many small things that will encourage previous fans of Diablo to take a step back and have to make a more in depth decision.

It is at its heart a hack and slash and always will be, skill points or not the same fun can still be had. on the other hand with the auction house sitaution, the DRM issue and just outright frustration at all the changes being made, I can see why so many are hesitating now like myself. Changes in game types we have loved in the past are not always negative things, but can clash with what we imagined it would be.

So sad to see something as awesome as Diablo get turned into this, just get ready ladies and gents as this might just be the way of the future. Freedom of choice when it comes to skills etc I can welcome, other changes I just cannot deal with.

Check out Zenonia 3 on the Iphone/Ipod touch, old school Japanese flavor with the hack and slash loot fest of the diablo days. I really enjoy it and if you like Diablo you might too.

Man people complain without having any idea that things are generally changing for the better.. There will still be a TON of variety, why don't you actually sit and listen to WHY they changed it. People are crying because they think customization/variability is dying slowly being drained away from the game. When in truth, the exact opposite is happening. Complain all you want, I don't care what you say... you are still going to end up buying the game.

Yay LETS HAVE COMPLICATED SKILL TREE'S so 99% of the player base can go google the best cookie cutter spec and spec into that. That in itself sounds pretty damn bland to me, and that's exactly what happened in Diablo 2, and in "WoW" for that matter.

And to all the people complaining about the Auction House decision. I don't see how all of you overlook the fact that hundreds of sites have existed since nearly day one of D2, that were solely dedicated to SELLING D2 ITEMS. That ontop of D2JSP and all that nonsense forum gold crap. Here you are complaining, pretending and acting as if D2 was NOTHING like this.. All Blizzard did was take something that was clearly being created by third party chinese farmers and tossing it into their game. Kids with mommy's credit card could buy accounts and the most ridiculous items in D2, yet you loved that game didn't you? so how in the hell is D3 any different?

Flame me all you want I don't care, some people are just so damn ignorant.

It's a game. It's also not D2, it's D3. If it was going to be exactly the same as D2 what would be the point?

Don't bash it until you try it. This new way of doing things might actually be preferable once you play it. If you want D2, it's still on the store shelves.

ive waited so long for d3 that this no skill tree/stat points thingy doesn't deter me at all. still gonna try it and see how it works out.

the diablo franchise has one of the biggest cult followings ever... some devs need to get the ban hammer to the face if they are thinking of changing it to cater to the new generation of gamers. what they had worked, and they only need to update it and give us another story, etc.
