Another Reason Not To Buy Diablo 3...(no skill tree/stat points) - Page 2

I believe they will do fine. They are implementing other systems to choose how abilities work instead of how many points you want in them. Do some research into runes if you doubt it.

i'm not seeing the big deal tbh. This actually makes this a more exciting refresh to a great title.

Killing Innovation from one of the most creative developers sounds awesome. Care to never age as well?

I personally think this skill tree change is a good thing. The way he described it in the video is exactly how I played Diablo II. Sorc? Freaking Frozen orb forever, or fireball, or firewall. I would usually focus on one skill, in two separate trees and that would be it.

I will purchase this game regardless of what they do, because I'm a blizzard fanboy, and they have yet to EVER disappoint me (with the exception of some lazy/retarded wow patches, but I don't play that anymore so I don't care).

I used to be an avid D2 player, and I used to PvP a lot, 1.10-1.12? I forget now. But I have played many characters, fully decked out, from a Glass Cannon 'Zon to a Plague 'Zon, to a War Cry Barb, to a Summon 'Mancer, to a Trap 'Sin, etc. I have played every commonly used build to some very exotic builds. The exotic builds, especially ones such as the WC baba or the plague 'zon used a lot of the skill trees, and thus, I feel as though I understand where this developer is coming from.

I really do think that there can still be promise in this new system. We are now "tunneled" into choosing 6 core abilities, and each of those abilities may be modified by a rune. Depending on how many rune choices there are (7?), this can lead to quite a number of possible choices FOR THE SAME SKILL SET. I think that the new system has promise, based soley on this. With skill points, you really only spent points on one move, and then (1.10+) the rest were spent on making that one move better through synergies. At least with this new system, we may have a greater choice in the number of moves our characters use on a regular basis.

Diablo ii = vanilla WoW
Diablo iii = WotLK

All of these news articles on diablo iii are just turning me off completely, and I thought the sell for $$ and drm was enough.

They should of just made it like TitanQuest. Half the fun was combining classes.

Complain all you want, I don't care what you say... you are still going to end up buying the game.

Yay LETS HAVE COMPLICATED SKILL TREE'S so 99% of the player base can go google the best cookie cutter spec and spec into that. That in itself sounds pretty damn bland to me, and that's exactly what happened in Diablo 2, and in "WoW" for that matter.

And to all the people complaining about the Auction House decision. I don't see how all of you overlook the fact that hundreds of sites have existed since nearly day one of D2, that were solely dedicated to SELLING D2 ITEMS. That ontop of D2JSP and all that nonsense forum gold bull ****. Here you are complaining, pretending and acting as if D2 was NOTHING like this.. All Blizzard did was take something that was clearly being created by third party chinese farmers and tossing it into their game. Kids with mommy's credit card could buy accounts and the most ridiculous items in D2, yet you loved that game didn't you? so how in the hell is D3 any different?

Flame me all you want I don't care, some people are just so damn ignorant.

+1
100% agree, i dont see why people are complaining anyways none of these changes they've made have changed my decision to buy this game at all.
