AMD vs. Intel Showdown

Thread Starter
Please no fanboy responses. Take each laptop into consideration. I could care less if its AMD or Intel.

Basicly my budget is $700 to $800.

The laptop must also be on free xbox 360 list on amazon.
(There was an Asus one I liked but it was removed from the list. You can look through the list by searching "laptop" on Amazon.com, and then clicking the "Free Xbox 360" banner in the top middle. I do not want an HP or Acer laptop.)

After having a bad run-in with Amazon, not Toshiba, selling a certain laptop with outdated/recalled motherboards in them, I have returned the laptop and narrowed it down to these 3:
1. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-P755-S5274-15-6-Inch-Platinum/dp/B0054QJ3P8/ref=br_lf_m_1000676291_1_2_ttl?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&pf_rd_p=1312986362&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000676291&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0A0VPFBKBSSPD43T1S6F"]Toshiba Satellite P755-S5274 15.6-Inch LED Laptop (Platinum)[/ame]

2. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-P775-S7232-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B00553X9JQ/ref=br_lf_m_1000676291_1_7_ttl?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&pf_rd_p=1312986362&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000676291&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0A0VPFBKBSSPD43T1S6F"]Toshiba Satellite P775-S7232 17.3-Inch LED Laptop (Black)[/ame]

3. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-Satellite-P775D-S7230-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B0054QJ3FI/ref=br_lf_m_1000676291_1_10_ttl?ie=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&s=pc&pf_rd_p=1312986362&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_t=1401&pf_rd_i=1000676291&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0A0VPFBKBSSPD43T1S6F"]Toshiba Satellite P775D-S7230 17.3-Inch LED Laptop (Black)[/ame]

My favorite one so far is #2. But is the bigger screen worth $50? And how does the AMD fusion rank up against the 2 intels?

I like quadcore on the AMD, but will it be better than the 2core 4thread intel i5-2410m?

This laptop will be rarely used to light game, and will be used to surf the web, watch hd movies, and program/run word 2007.

Go with #3. AMD laptops can finally be taken seriously now that Fusion is out.

I say go for the third one as well.

This thread threw me a curve ball...was deciding against the AMD personally.

The AMD can only do 2.3GHz but the Intel can turbo to 2.9GHz. confused.gif
But I suppose 4 actual cores does trump hyper threading.

So now:thinking:, I think I will be purchasing the AMD. Only 9 left in stock. ninja.gif

I'll get a free Dirt 3 game along with the Xbox too. biggrin.gif

Third.

Like another poster said, AMD mobile procs can be taken seriously now that fusion is out. Not only that but Intel graphics are a joke (basically like how AMD mobile procs were a joke before fusion).
