That sucks that the DCII doesn't use an integrated but separate heatsink for the vrm and memory like the TF2/3/Lightnings.

Agreed. All i had to do was take the TFIII cooler off and put on the MCW82 and that was it.

Little effect, just like on radiators.

Noted, I'll hitup Home Depot tomorrow then! Time to finally go to bed so I can get up early and do this! haha.

I'll post pics sometime tomorrow after I'm done modding, then finally get it installed in my PC. Redoing my waterloop as well (got some sexy compression fittings and Primochill 1/2ID tubing ). I'll update/post finals ASAP.

So, I ran into a roadblock with modding the heatsink. Simply proving to be too dificult to mod it and me feeling comfertable with actually using it and not worrying about frying a $500 card lol. Went ahead and ordered those heatsinks instead. Should be in by the end of the week hopefully!

The compatability chart on Swiftech's site is for cards with the reference design PCB only, they even show you the PCB number to the right of the card model number.

It may be that they misprinted the chart to show the ENGTX580 DCII instead of the regular reference design ENGTX580 2DI.
The PCB number they show on the chart is correct for the reference design card, but would be a different number on the non reference DCII.

Always consult the PCB number to determine if your card is a reference design.

Good luck with your mod.

I was confused about the whole PCB deal when I bought it, it said it needed the "1261" code on there (think that was it). And the number is on the PCB. But in the email they sent to me, they sent a picture of a DCII "confirming" that it is compatible.

And they are defending the DCII, not the fact that it may have been a misprint.

Odd that they would claim it fits when the DCII is known to not be a reference design...
Maybe there has been a revision or 2 of the DCII?

This is the DCII PCB

This is the reference design PCB

Clearly very different in the VRM area...

If they F'd up then you might still have a chance to get your money back (if the hs is still intact ). Most likely, someone did not update this list and didn't realized this Asus model is a non-reference, hence the "under investigation" designation. Good luck again dude
