Question about the AX1200 and is it enough - Page 2

The AX1200 would work fine but I would recommend you get a different unit.
1) A single rail setup is just a bad idea at such high wattages.
2) The AX1200 doesn't even have enough PCIe connectors for more than three cards.
Get yourself an Antec HCP-1200, an Enermax MaxRevo 1200 or 1350W, or a Sparkle Gold 1250W.

LOL...don't listen to that genius. AX1200 is far from crap buddy.

I'd take the Antec HCP1200 over it though.

Thanks the Antec HCP-1200 was kind of the one i was thinking if the AX1200 didnt work out.

Looks like ill still need some adapters though

the SR-2 has 2 8 pin EPS connectors which is covered
but it also has 3x 6pin connectors on the motherboard so if i went with 4 graphics cards that 8 PCIE connectors + 3 extra on the mobo for 11 total, even with 3 cards id still need 9.

The only thing then that concerned me was if i was using 4 graphics cards all of the preriphials are all off of 1 rail and that would be the rail id have to use the molex to 6 pin adapters on +all my drives fans water pump accersories etc

Edit: Upon further research im going to step this down to 3 6970s (still dual e5645s on the SR2) because with 4 gpus and 2 cpus it seems i could fast approach the limits of a 15a breaker and currently i have no way to get a 20a breaker (and my monitors tack on about another 200w)

so then i think at that point the HCP 1200 is my best bet
