silverstone fm181 fan not spinning freely

Thread Starter
i bought three silverstone fm181 fans and two of them feel as if they have more resistance when spinning compared to the other perfectly functioning one.

they both also emit a slight humming noise.

does anyone know a quick fix for this? i've already contacted silverstone and am waiting on their response

If it's under warranty better wait for a RMA; if not then get a syringe with mineral or synthetic oil and inject some of it in the fan motor casing. 0.5ml should be enough, but you can adapt. If you've put too much it will just trickle away, so be prepared with some paper towels.
