Hmm...I own that on steam. Maybe I should try it

FPS's that try to have "emotion" always seemed kinda oxymoronic to me. Maybe its that I only get a handful of hours next to these characters and its all intensity forcing me to really not care what they are saying. Maybe its a lack of connection to them because I don't find much good in them. I dunno... Maybe its because I know that as soon as I switch to multiplayer some 10 year old will be calling me a homo as he stabs me with a knife. But somehow they usually lack in the ability to reach out to me on an emotional level. This isn't to say I don't want to see how the story turns out though. I almost always do.

Really looking forward to how the single player turns out in BF3. I only played the BC2 SP when we hammered the EA servers so hard on release day that we couldn't even sign in.
ur opinion then, the reason why i liked it cause of decent voice acting, a pretty good soundtrack for different levels and quite varied campaign, most of BC2's campaign was same pretty much, except maybe the tank lvl

Bad Company's characters were fun, it was a much less serious shooter. I imagine when DICE says they want to add emotion, they are going to make the game more dramatic.

For BF3, I kind of picture a "Black Hawk Down" combination of serious humor and heroic/dramatic moments.

For instance, from the BF3 teaser:
"I'm up!"
"I'm up."
"I'm up."
"I'm f***ed up, but I'm up!"

Makes you smile, because it's kind of badass, but at the same time a pretty serious and dramatic moment had just occured.

Most FPS games force you into a character with no real way of connecting to them. Good example of this are CoD games. Doesn't help that they love killing your characters off, either.
