ATI r6870 crossfire power consumption

Hey guys.

I've been looking for a new graphics card for the past while and have realised just how bad I am at making these kind of decisions. But I think I've found quite a good one.....maybe....

basically I want to spend AROUND 300 euro and my preference WAS nvidia...untill seeing this deal. 6870's in crossfire costs 300 euro. I've seen a big performance increase over a GTX 580!!

unfortunately though, I'm really scraping it with my power supply, which is a Corsair HX620....620W and I'm not sure if it can hold it...
maybe 6850 in crossfire instead would be better? Or would that even work?

At a budget of around 300 euro, what would YOU guys buy?

Your power supply should be able to handle dual 6870s, however the 2GB 6950 would offer you more vRam over the 6870s

they are the two single card solutions i have looked at most. But more research shows that its harder and harder to find a flash-able 6950 now, since many are being lasered by manufacturers to prevent flashing it to 6970.
If I'm gonna get a GTX 570, thats the exact model I'll get I think.

But whats wrong with crossfire? These benchmarks astound me quite frankly.

sorry for double post, but there is something I forgot to mention. Will it matter much if my Crossfire is dual x8 instead of x16?
