Antec HCP 1.2KW $279.99

A few External drives

So you looking to be around $2500 mark

Why so many hard drive? Video editor and photography alone could eat up TBs of space. I myself am a video editors, I only edit 720p, 5-6 mintue videos and that alone ended up to be around a 10Gigs, So depending on what his needs are rather have more space then be a limiting factor. Also having external drives helps for backups. RAW image format can be up to 20Megs a picture. I'm pretty sure hes going to be taking more then a few pictures at a time.
Yes, definitely will be taking pictures... Lots of 'em. I am currently stationed in RAF Mildenhall England so I have been doing myself some traveling and I am a nature guy. So much nature to take pictures of and a sony cybershot won't do the trick anymore!

2500k for gaming.
2600k for multitasking (gaming/video editing etc)

That's pretty much it. Unless you're really into video/audio creation/editing, then I'd say step up to a, i7 970-990x. (the extra cores/threads help)

And unless you're running more than 2 GPU's, anything more than a Corsair AX850 is overkill.

Still on edge whether or not to get the new 6970 or go with a lower one and xfire. Any thoughts?

Go with the 6970 to start, and crossfire it later if you need the horsepower.
