I believe I already mentioned this one. It depends on what type of programmer you are, it's a wide range depending on the type. I haven't researched all programming types nationwide, but for video game programmers nationwide the average is about $50,000 starting with no prior experience and a bachelor's degree, and up to about $125,000 for lead programmers with 5+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree or greater. Tax varies based on which state you're in, but I would say it would be about 30% at $50,000 and around 50% at $125,000, so after tax that's $35,000-62,500 USD, per year.
