blizzard shenanigans

Thread Starter
Does anyone else feel like blizzard is just trying to prove a point with D3 that they can take away all the good stuff and announce a bunch of crappy details about the game like always having to be connected to the internet, no inifinty 3d surround support, no mods, rl currency exchange and STILL sell the game likes its mother freakin' hot hotcakes?

Cause lets be honest, half the people sayin' they arn't goin' to get it, definately are, and d3 will probably sell more copies of any game in the past year, and blizzard will still be raking in $$$ all day. they could probably say there is only 1 class and no more pvp and people would still buy it. ( as long as its the demon hunter they kept)

Only time will tell.

But most consumers don't have all the information we have. And they won't find out until they've already purchased the game

I don't think it's any kind of evil conspiracy. They're just making business decisions and choosing to tell us about them all at once. Bad design is standard in the industry at this point, so anything Blizzard is doing shouldn't be a surprise.

Well maybe they will patch out the always online bit.. some day.. If it turns out to be exceptional, I might get it at That point, but not with the ridiculous always online DRM its supposedly launching with.

The auction house that allows you to purchase gold and items with real money is going to really ruin the PVP. Why farm for good loots when you can just buy the best stuff from some gold farmer and pwn face?

Hopefully they will make the items just a tad easier to get then. I agree with this to a point but they need to make the items really accessible or make them extremely rare.

Yeah. Bad design is a standard because people just give in to this bull crap that these companies keep pumping out. Honestly, whats the point of the game when you try to work to find a random high level weapon and then get owned in PVP cause some jerk with a fat wallet bought a better weapon than you yesterday when he bought the game. Did you also know that Blizzard will be charging 3 times for the auctions. 1 charge for adding an item to an auction house, another charge for someone actually buying your item, and the third charge for trying to cash out to your paypal. In essence, and totally fake figures, say you were able to sell an Uber special high powered god weapon for $1000 (again, fake numbers here). After 3 different % charges from Blizzard, you only end up with about $600. You BUY their game, PLAY for hours, SELL something expensive, and they get a major profit for watching you do it. Its LITERALLY slave labor. Anyone who doesnt see a problem with this is blind. Its not a game anymore, its their second cash cow like WoW. Even SC2 is going stupid with heart of the swarm coming out at retail price because they didnt put it in the first starcraft. Just another way for them to rake in $$$. Its sad really.

personaly I think the idea of a constant internet connection to play Diablo3 is a win/win for the average playerbase that would like to play a game and not have to worry about some tard hacking and modifying their charicters to be god-like with the most powerfull gear and what-not.... as for the introduction of a real-life money pay per ingame gold and items... that is a good idea as well.... if the small percentile of the gamer base dosnt like it they are probably free to explore other blizzard games to satiate their taste for pvp gaming (i.e. WoW) or not play Diablo3 at all.... granted that percentile of players will probably be relitively small in comparison to the larger percentile that will be welcoming the changes slated for the release of Diablo3

with that being said... I for one am all for the changes and look forward to enjoying the single-player side of the game, And the online communtiy as well....

blizzard, bring it on

I really dont see whats so godly about blizzard games, sure their good but their not as great as people describe them to be. I thought starcraft 2 was lots of fun but not the best of 2010 for me or even best rts game in recent memory. What other PC developer can get away making games with low quality gfx at best and their games being 60$ a pop. If it was any other game OCN would rage at it.
