Motherboard recommendations for i7 2600k

I need a motherboard for an i7 2600k. I have looking at Asus Maximus IV Extreme-Z. The rig will before over-clocking and gaming and will use a multiple GPU setup. The rig will use a H2O cooling system. I have some concerns about the Asus board. My first concern is with the heat sink. My Asus PT6 Deluxe had way too much gluey TIM applied. Now, I am not going to water cool my board, and I really do not like the idea of having to check to see if Asus properly installed the heat sink. I have also heard that the board has some USB issues (anyone confirm?). So, are there any other boards that are recommended?

The Gigabyte UD7 and ASRock Fatal1ty are popular at the top end.

My MSI had an issue with the TIM on the heatsinks, hand to clean and replace it all before I even turned it on.

Its more common than we think.

That sucks, maybe it would be best just to water cool the board. I really hate to do so, the maintenance on a full cover blocks are just pita.
