Just wait a few hours and NCIX will have a new sale out. Then it'll probably be under $70. I got mine for $63 two weeks back.

Pretty slow, but it's good enough for me for storage...

Videos and movies, a Green is fine. Games? You definitely want a WD Black.

Wait... how many games? I did some short-stroke testing. If you partitioned the first 200GB (or less if possible) and used that solely for games, performance would be... okay. (not great, but it probably wouldn't stutter tons like it will if the data ends up near the end)

Note - you would need to apply the WDIDLE3 tweak.

Blacks are definitely way way faster. I'd take one of them over a 2TB Green if games are your primary use. But if it's actually primarily for movies, then paying less for double the capacity is a nice perk.

Seagate Barracuda Greens are dependable, quality drives, but they sell for dirt cheap, added plus for consumers

If you're in the Canada : http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product...82E16822148764 : 1tb/54$

That is... not dirt cheap. And from what I've heard, Seagate Greens are less reliable than the Green drives from every other manufacturer.

2TB drives are better value. I got my WD Green 2TB for $62.99 + FS.

Just keep an eye on NCIX's sales. Every few weeks they have prices waaaaay better than Newegg's. We should be due for another awesome sale pretty soon...

i have 3 wd 1 terabytes green and i am actualy very happy with them.

if it is for storage only and the drives do no tneed to do full load work i would say get the wd greens over the blacks.

if it is going to be a a working drive as a secondary drive i will say the wd black then.

but saying that, i use my wd green as a working drive for my torrents and movies etc.... and NEVER had a problem at all

Its pretty cheap compared to other manufacturers drives (including WD) and ive had WD Caviar Greens fail on my too many time to accept that Seagate's are less reliable than those from others. Actually, Ive had lost of drives fail on me, the worst being Samsung (with the exception of the F3 drives, those are awesome) and the best being WD, i am very Pro-WD actually, almost all my PCs have WD drives in them, but thats for boot drives, and those are Caviar Blacks. but for storage and backup use, go Seagate.
