Question on crossfire and eyefinity

Thread Starter
Hey guys I have a 6950, I believe my display port adapter crapped out on me since it shows my monitor as a fake but it worked before and works with my friends adapter which is the same brand.

I want to change my build up a bit, I wanted to know if I got another 6000 series card and crossfired it would I still need to use a display port or will this allow me to just use 3 DVI ports?

Thanks in advance for any help

You will need it as you can only plug monitors to the mother card.
And note you can only crossfire with another 6950 or a 6970.

Ah so unlike nvidia's SLI, all monitors need to be plugged into 1 card. Thanks for the clarification.

Been debating to go back to nvidia and not deal with the adapter BS, it is my second adapter. They aren't cheap.

Exactly!
Ive had no problems with my adapter. Got one for £20 id say they are not too expensive.

Here the Accell ones go for $40canadian.

So far spent $80 plus the inconvenience of going out replacing it in a matter of 7 months. I might as well upgrade to 2x nvidia cards and sell the unlockable 6950.

My monitors work but the Dport monitor shows up as a fake, which doesn't allow my monitors to go to 5760x1080p and no bezel compensation. Asus monitors don't have drivers they just go off of what the computer reads them as.
