The CPUs with a T at the end are the Thubans, 1055T, 1075T, 1090T, 1100T... they have been out for quite a while. You can't unlock a Thuban to anything, they are already the highest chip. So you were wrong, they are the only chips NOT to be able to unlock.

Whoa, chill out. I said to ignore me since after looking it up briefly, I saw the chips I was thinking of never hit retail. There's really no need to be so harsh when I admitted I was wrong.

The quad cores with the T on the end were supposed to be Thuban based quad cores, but they never hit the retail market. I had simply assumed they were released as planned, but I looked it up and saw that they were scratched. Other members have confirmed that such chips existed in the OEM market (albeit for possibly a short time).

Well I've currently got an ancient Athlon II X2 250 Regor with the Multiplier Locked so I can't OC it at all... That's why I need an Upgrade

And I play 1920x1080 at max settings on all my games but that was before I had to downgrade temporarily to this cpu

Oh, there is in fact a 640 that unlocks to a Thuban (see my "What unlocks" thread)
However it uses a different part number and is normally not available to retail customers

Just as everyone said it. There are x6 proc that were release as x4 oem proc.
Do research first before post any comment here.

You should be able to oc that cpu to about 3.6-3.8ghz. I have a Athlon II 240 that I can oc it to 3.874ghz.

EDIT
You can oc a lock multipiler cpu.

In my opinion you'd do well to wait and see how the Bulldozers play out, since it is only a month or two till you can get them (hopefully anyway....).

Buying a Phenom II at this point seems a little pointless to me.

The 640 Propus I used was 100% OEM from a HP computer, never checked the part number before I sold it on eBay, but it never unlocked into anything, neither did it unlock any cache.

It puzzles me what kind of X-men experiment was that Athlon X4 that unlocked to x6.

For any standard Athlon II x4, that is physically impossible.

You need to set the multiplier for your ram lower and then increase the fsb.
But if your not planning on overclocking and want a new chip, don't get that 925. 2.8ghz These days ... Either get an athlon II 640 or an phenom II 955.
Also your saying your chip isn't good because it has an old architecture ... phenom II has the exact same architecture, athlon II just doesn't have the L3 cache.
