Nehalem to Sandy Bridge was a pretty big jump in performance, and Sandy's only the mainstream CPUs.

I'm sure it's happened to GPUs too I just haven't been around computers like this for more than a year.

We do not know if that chart refers to desktop or mobile GPUs. If it is mobile, expect more of a watt decrease than a performance increase imho.

Why would they announce a mobile gpu, that sounds pretty silly?

This is defiantly a desktop gpu chart.
