Rig Turning Itself On (sort-of)

Thread Starter
I'm not 100% sure I've posted this in the right section, but anyway... My rig (in sig), just turns itself on when it is off sometimes, however, nothing will appear on the screen (screen not registering input, stays in sleep mode), and the little speaker makes no beeps (usually makes one short beep on boot).

All the lights come on and all the fans spin, but nothing happening.

In short, does anyone know what could just cause my rig to turn itself on for no apparent reason?

Thanks in advance!

I just had a look in the BIOS, but I'm not sure what setting I would change, as none seem to describe making the comp turn on by itself.

Well, I've come back to re-post and ask if anyone has any ideas, as I'm still having the same problem. Cleared CMOS to be sure I hadn't changed some setting I couldn't find again, no change.

In fact, if I leave the power on overnight, the rig will always be on in the morning. Then, if I turn off the power, and wait and turn the power back on (whether I wait 5 minutes or 5 seconds), it starts by itself, same problem, no video, and no beep, and will continually do this again and again and again (last night about 50 times, until I turned it on and cleared CMOS, causing it to reset properly). Pressing the power or reset buttons on the front panel or on the motherboard itself appear to have no effect while it is on in the pseudo-on state. I have disconnected the front panel to make sure I hadn't done something wrong there, and still had the same result.

Again, please help with any ideas.

So, I'm back again, still with the same problem.

I've noticed that when it is off, power plugged in but the switch on the power supply is off, every few minutes it clicks and a couple of LEDs flash for a millisecond and then it all goes back off again.

The clicking seems to come from the power supply so I'm wondering if this could be an issue of grounding or a short or something along those lines. Though when it is on properly, everything functions properly.

Again, any help appreciated.
