Blast from the PAST 8800GTS Overvolting what are the limts

I have an old 8800gts I just pulled out of my electronics heap and want to create a dedicated folding machine at my girlfriends free electricity house.

I'm having trouble find the the peak clocks people where getting on these cards. Anyone able to think back and remember and good high clocks when doing overvolt mods?

Currently its folding stable at 1.44v with 849 core and 2106 shader clock.

You'll know when you reach the limit. Although you can still look up old reviews and see what the samples clocked.

Is that basically when the magic smoke comes pouring out of the card. I am at 1.4v already with pretty high clocks but the fan is only running at about 60% to holding under 80c so I got some room to make this thing really annoying and get that clock a little higher. But is watching core temp all I need to worry about when cranking up the voltage some more?

gts 512 right?
turn up the fan and whittle down the voltage at 80c it will take no more voltage anyway.
i'd always kept mine around 1.4v on air but only benching.
you should be no higher then 1.40v for 850 even for folding.
find a good air sweet spot around 1.35ish..
i was playing with my voltmodded 512's the other day but only with fm3d benches.
stock referance fan 100% 1.35 890ish.... 1.41v 1000 on dry ice cooling,so cooler it is the better it will run.
