Black & Orange TJ07 - 7970 tri fire upgrade time :)

Thread Starter
I recently built my SB system in a HAF X, however I have found that my addiction to watercooling is starting to get the better of me and its time to upsize my space.

Parts used:

CPU - 2600k
MB - Gigabyte P67-UD7-B3
RAM - 8gb GSkills F3 1866 - 7-8-7-24
GPUs - HIS 6990, HIS 6970
Sound - Azuntech XFI Prelude 7.1
Case - Silverstone TJ07
HDD's - Vertex 2 and 2tb Deskstar

Watercooling gear

EK Supreme HF Nickel/Actereal
EK FC 6990
EK-FC 6970
XSPC RX480
XSPC RX360
BI GT Stealth 240
Swiftech mpc655 Vario
XSPC dual bay res with pump insert for 655
XSPC Matt white tubing
BP compressions

Some other goodies smile.gif

So the Challenge this weekend will be to move this gear over to the new case and somehow fit all the rads in smile.gif

I will be cutting and modifying the mid-plate along with some other bits and pieces.

I have some pretty good inspiration from some of the brillaint TJ07 builds on these forums so I think I should be able to get a good result from this build.

Here is the before shot I guess smile.gif

I am not a big fan of the tj11... especially for the money!

I was tossing up between the tj07 and the 800D.

Is it hard to flip the tray around? I see a lot of people do that mod.

Not sure if I am sold on the look yet or not....

it was hard for me because i didnt have great tools lol, you need to buy a new backplate because it fits in differently upside down.
the annoying thing is all the parts are held in with rivets, so you will need a drill and a rivet gun to put it back together.

good thing is, the cpu will be closer to the 480mm radiator for better cooling, and the heat from the gpu will just rise out the fans closer to the top.

Its an interesting mod but I think I will go the normal way up as I thing I will roof mount the 240 GTS and then try my hardest to fit the 360 in the bottom with the 480.

I have 2 rad stands so I guess I will just get creative. At least I have a bay res that houses the pump so I wont have to have that gear down the bottom.

I am also thinking that I will use perspex for the mid plate and not aluminium.

You won't be able to fit the RX360 and RX480 in the bottom and keep the PSU in the stock location. If you want to use the bottom section for radiators only, you can locate the PSU into the drive bays and build a cover to hide everything from sight.

If you really wanted to use a 240, 360, and 480MM radiator in the TJ07 I would sell the RX480 and buy a Swiftech 480MM radiator. You can mod the top and install it up there and install the 360 / 240 in the bottom section. You can fit the PSU in its stock location with that location and would offer very similar cooling performance.
