Crazy artifacts on Mass Effect

Hello

First of all, I'm not going to post any screenshots. I wish I could, but the artifacting is really hard to capture because it changes so fast. I may post a video later if truly necessary.

I was in the middle of some testing when I noticed this. On Mass Effect, under certain lighting conditions and at certain angles, the weapons on the back of the characters start glitching out. Boxes with parts of those weapons' textures flicker randomly throughout them. The OC I was running at the time was 890/1780/2300, +25mV on the core (1.031v), perfectly stable under 30m Kombustor + 2h of Heaven.

I did test with stock clocks and the same thing happened. I reset my Nvidia panel settings for Mass Effect, and removed my custom UE3 settings, but nothing fixed it. Plus, my billionth run of Mass Effect had already been done on these cards, and I noticed no artifacts or glitches throughout the entire game. When I was OCing the cards, I did take the voltage up to +200mV (1.2xxx v), but only for a short run, and I'm pretty sure that these cards can take more than that, even under air.

Thoughts?

ME2 has notoriously bad z-fighting. You probably just didn't notice it before now.

@3:50 you can see Miranda's clothes flickering back and forth, then Udina's eyes flickering/clipping through his face.


If this is the kind of thing you're talking about, then your cards are fine.

There is no fix. It's a problem with the game engine.

You should try a different driver version, I had issues myself on my old 560 Tis (or was it my 6870s) with mass effect 2 on certain drivers and had to change them around until i found one that worked properly.
