2 different cards for 3 monitors?

Thread Starter
Hey guys. So I have a 560 ti and a 8800gts. I have 2 monitors connected to my 560 ti and i just plugged in my 8800gts for a 3rd monitor but my system doesn't even detect the card.

What should I try?

specs:
2600k
8gb ddr3
seasonic 650w
etc

edit: I remember in my tech class I brought my 880gts because i was putting back a different system together after swapping cases and I remember some kid in the class had a problem with his 8800gts so it is possible he took my good one and gave me his bad one without me looking. Just a thought though.

edit: the card wasn't plugged in all the way derp. Now my system sees the card but no 3rd monitor =(

Because of the possibility that your good 8800GTS is swapped for a bad one, the first thing is to ensure the 8800GTS that you have is a good working one.

Uninstall the GTX560 Ti and use the 8800GTS alone. If that does not work, it is most likely a faulty card.

Double check your manual or if you have the option to switch to 16x

Gotcha, sorry

Did you try booting up just the 8800 on its own as Windfire suggested?
