No modem? Otherwise I would have suggested you reset it and clear the DNS caches.

yes no modem...the cable directly runs into my cabinet and the other end is connected to a switch board where there are few more connections of the other users..

for crysis 2 n/w connectivity error problem i tried EA help centre ..the customer executive there told me that there may be a problem with my ISP.

Good. Try running with elevation ... that's a big difference between XP/Win7. Right-click 'Run as administrator'.

Firewall and antivirus/antimalware are most likely. You've already disabled the firewall (which is good), but you will want to be sure it's not one of the others as well. Which antivirus are you using?

Yeah McAfee is somewhat notorious for this kind of thing. You might want to try temporarily disabling on-demand. If McAfee is causing your problem then you may need to add some port-level exceptions (in addition to the app exceptions).

Disclaimer: Again, these are temporary fixes just to figure out what the problem is. As soon as you identify the culprit you will want to re-enable everything ASAP.
