Sprint phone upgrade

Thread Starter
Decided to stop being cheap and using this crappy HTC Snap I downgraded from my Droid to. I came from a Droid, and I see some similar phones, the Epic, and the Evo Shift. I'm sick of the SERO phones, they are all awful, and I don't mind spending more money, even if I have to get the 4G phones.

I like sliding style of the physical keyboard phones, and the blackberry style phones, but not sure if the XPRT is good, probably won't be good for swype in case I ever wanna use that (probably won't if the keyboard is right out there, but the resolution looks awful).

Battery life is important, physical keyboard is important.

I'd like something that has a somewhat active community, which is what drove me away from the XPRT. Other than that it looks almost perfect.

Droids were pretty good without a screen protector or a case. Would like something similar, but its not really necessary, just annoyed more companies don't use metal like Motorola.

I liked the Evo; the huge screen size was awesome, but didn't think it was a good idea to have it since I tend to wear tighter clothes.

I'd consider the other phones as well. Don't really like the Nexus S.

From a previous SERO customer to another,

I would wait for Sprint's version of the Samsung Galaxy S2. Should be launching in Sepetember according to this ARTICLE

Physical keyboard smartphones are really getting phased out so I wouldn't recommend one. Most of them are bulky too.

If I had to get a phone now, it would be an EVO 3D or Motorola Photon. The EVO 3D has a very good user base over at XDA. Photon not so much since it just came out.

Oh and there is always a possibility that Sprint could get the iPhone in September. Only time will tell...

Seems like September is when I will know. I was thinking about waiting and maybe the iPhone 5 would come out... I could probably sell that and get money, use it to buy a cheaper phone and still have cash left over.

I prefer the physical keyboards. Swype is a good replacement, but not something I prefer. Its not just about speed for me anymore, its about the physical feeling.

Are you still on SERO or did you go to SERO-P and what phone do you use?

I can wait, the S II looks amazing, and I don't like Samsung phones usually. They say it has a great battery life too, so I may get it.

I left SERO before SERO-P was announced. I am now using an iPhone 4 with AT&T. I can't see myself using any other phone
