p8p67 deluxe 220
2x 580 1000 or 800 depending on what brand
60g corsair or ocz 3 ssd 120
300g raptor hdd 100
2tb WD hdd 80
gskill ram any ram will do 4g at 35 8g at yes you guessed it 70
i5 2500k 200
optical drive 20
850w psu corsair recommended 170
case this is a tricky one

budget wise you can easily still get a baller case from say caselabs m8 for 360 or get a still great case just not as flashy and get a HAF 932 or X or some of the other cases that are around 200

you can buy whatever monitor as you have alot of cash left over relatively speaking

os windows 7 130
monitor <200

baller computer any game will be played at 2310 without tax and it can be much much lower if you dont get flashy components

for example i gave the case a budget of 200 which is a gratuitous amount imo so a HAF 922 or 932 which are generally the best bang for your buck now net you 70 back

getting 2x 580s on a good deal nets another 200 back and not getting too big a monitor gives you another 70

without an os -130 and you dont NEED an ssd but its really nice to have

I am not sure what you have already so it is difficult.
The best CPU IMO is the 2600K
The 2500K would do the job, but you say you want the best ....

I think a Asus WS P67 would be prudent as it has 16 2x lanes that provide seperation for the GPU's

570 SLI or 6970 CF would be a good solution as not to really suck up the budget on cards being you are looking for everything

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125395

Next with this budget I would shoot for some fast memory with the best timings

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231434

Just remeber, everything you are paying for is for the end result of fantastic graffics ..... that being said a top end S-IPS panel, I would try to sneak in a 27" size and then put the rest of thie system together useing the rest of the budget making sacrafices where you must, But Again, don't skim on the pictiure, too many make the mistake of spending 2K and cheap out on a poor sceen

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824260038

I am one of them and I have learned my lesson as I save for a new 30" IPS

to summerize

great Core components
Great Screem
skimp on hard drives, keys case, cooler and a mouse if you must, they are easy to upgrade over time anyway
Preformance and screen are what is most important, the rest is window dressing

if you find your self with a bit extra go SSD for the OS even last gen is very fast if you can find a deal on one

good luck

I agree on the 2500K.....

the 580's will put him over budget if he goes with a big IPS panel

2x 570 or 2x 6970 will work well with that CPU

If he does have any cash left he can use it for an SSD ....
