Just had an idea, how about I get the DAS and buy AZERTY keycaps??

Is that possible?

I couldn't find any website selling AZERTY keycaps would you have any insight?

You should look to ebay for cherry boards as donors, or go for the stickers route. (4keyboards, latkey and so on)

Stickers?! No thanks... :/ I don't feel like having stickers on my 150€ Board...

Anyways, it's all about deciding:

Filco AZERTY Pad lettering
DAS Keyboard QWERTY Laser Etch lettering

OMG I can't decide!!!

It should be noted that the Das is laser engraved with infill. Thus the white lettering is about as durable as the lettering on the Filco.

They are way better than you are figuring

(And it's not said you have to spend 150€ for a good keyboard.)

Filco AZERTY Pad lettering

Got one today because I was curious about the ringing problem...

Meh...

Not bad to type on, but it's like typing on the harmonic chamber of a guitar.

I got it for a reasonable price so I can't regret.

But the money spent on my Xarmor and Qpad (available in AZERTY) were surely better spent.

Depends on how its done.

If you engrave plastic, you'll usually end up with lettering the colour of the plastic. There's a few ways of getting a different colour, and the most common is to infill the engraved grove with some sort of paint. Depending on how well this is done, it can either be quite durable, or be as prone to wear as pad printing.

I'm pretty sure I've heard of cases of the Das' legends wearing off through regular usage.

OMG you're confusing me know!

So filco doesn't sound good for you... I'll have to check that out on youtube ASAP.

As for Qpad and Xarmor, i've seen those and actually quite like them, but for some reason, I got my mind set on browns, and those are blue if I'm right...

Don't get me wrong the filco sound is good, is something that happen later that is not so nice, a sorta of echo.

Xarmor comes in blue and brown but only on US-ANSI layout (aka 104 keys and stupid enter). Qpad comes in many EU layouts (and US-ANSI) but is only blue.

Mionix comes in many EU layouts (and US-ANSI) but is only black.

Maybe the TT meka comes in AZERTY too (surely there are Italian and British variants)

I'd go for the Filco.
