People don't quit wow for guild wars. Guild wars isn't even an MMO. It's a game with a 3d lobby.

People quit wow because they are bored with it, like me (only 7 new raid bosses?!), or because they never get into a guild that's worth anything.

The latter part of that is, to me, the most important part of any MMO. If you never get into a decent guild and like the people you are playing with, it will always be bad; no matter what game you are playing. I have been playing with the same core group of people since 2005. I don't want to quit playing because I like the people I play with. I want to quit playing because the game has gotten really stale lately. This is a dilemma that many people face.

I don't mean to disagree, but I just want to add that the game has become stale to you. Not to say that you're opinion isn't important (it is), but it's still just your own. The game has become stale to many people since 2005, and everyone eventually becomes satiated of WoW. Firelands may be "only" 7 bosses, but really they're some of the most interesting bosses in recent memory. I like having 7 unique, challenging bosses (excluding Baleroc), and I probably like it more than having some filler tank-n-spank fights + easy loot fights.

This isn't a disagreement at all. This is exactly what I meant by saying, "to me".

My point was that the game is made by the people you interact with.

I know, I just wanted to clarify that I didn't mean to challenge what you said, just add something. The great thing about WoW is not only do I play with many IRL friends, I also meet new friends when joining new guilds from time to time.

Blizzard and patches....... patch today was a hotfix for bugs, not 1 big bug was fixed. German servers are bugged now.

Blizz is such a crappy company now, nothing like they were pre-acti-blizz. Now its sloppy jobs and the "we dont care" attitude anymore. This be my last month of WoW, till at least 4.3 patch that promises *ha promise* biggest patch in cata so far. And i thought 4.2 was huge.

15 000 000 - 300 000 = 14 700 000 users.
14 700 000 * $15 = $220 500 000 per month.
$2 646 000 000 a year.
Even if 1/3 of those accounts are free accounts, even an other 1/3 were inactive, that's still a $hit load of money.
I'm about 99% sure WoW will never die.

Heroic Ragnaros has been out since June, it's now August and the world's #1 guilds have JUST managed to bring him down.
In conclusion, the only people crying about the game not being "hardcore" enough are the ones who have seen almost no heroic content or any of the truly difficult encounters in their time playing the game.
Blizzard realized something important in TBC - despite instances like SSC, TK, Hyjal/BT and Sunwell being out for several months (or over a year in case of SSC/TK), almost NO casual (or low-end raider) even knew what those instances looked like from the inside. What is the point when you've reached the end of the expansion and such a small amount of your playerbase has seen any of your amazing content?
To be "hardcore" today means keeping up with the tiers and progressing through heroic modes.

PvP in this game has been like this since the game was released. Right now the game is more balanced than it's ever been, and those rambling on about "oh the good old days of PvP" most likely have forgotten the INSANE imbalances that existed.

As for me...well, now I have a job and can no longer raid (rotating shifts ftl) and therefore only log on ~1-2 hours a week for some 2v2 Arena with my good friend. Wish I had time for raiding but I don't
The content isnt hard for pve at all. The reason those arent cleared is because you are limited to one completion per week, and only the completions give you more gear. So you spend a ton of time doing other things than the actual content and spend a very small amount of time doing the actual content, which is not hard.

Grind 80
Grind Heroics
Grind ez raids
Farm dailys
Gem/Enchant good gear
Do ez weekly crap
Get group together/Fly over
Get buffs/food/potions
Make a few attempts which may or may not give better gear
Hope everyone is online and not RL issues
Hope no one has to leave early
Hope there is no BS drama

Also there are TONS of waiting in 99% of guilds. If you have the same gear as the top guilds, could isntantly teleport and didnt have to do any of the rebuffing/running/trash and could just PLAY THE GAME most of that content would be cleared. Its just that there is so much garbage u have to do before you even play the game it makes it impossible for most people to do it.

PvE is easy. End of story. (PvP buggy and intentionally imba)
