I quit WoW a LONG time ago. The whole experience wasn't really all that fun for me. Quests were always the same, even with Cata's supposed changes to them. Adding some cinematics to the starting quests doesn't make "Kill X to Collect Y that only drops Z% of the time" any less tedious. As such, in the year or two that I played it was boring enough for me to never hit level 80 and I've never experienced the Cata stuff beyond what was available to people from that stupid multi-gig patch. Never seen any "end game content", and frankly, I don't care if I EVER do.

CoD is like having a cow, use it for 1 year, buy a new cow and throw the old one, use it for 1 year and repeat.

To put out a new CoD every year cost more than putting out an expansion every year and a half or so, considering the vast player base and income every month.
I mean, does CoD games brings in 120M dollars every month? I think not.
Honestly, I think you lost the point of his comment.

His version of milking is milking the public for their cash... by forcing them to buy a new game every year

Your version of milking is milking the game to get the public to pay more cash for updated content to the same game.

Both are valid points based on perspective.... However that is the nature of an MMO game versus other game types. Unless WoW was to go F2P... then this is just how it is as far as your wallet is concerned. With CoD, you just don't have a subscription fee... so really you are comparing apples to oranges there.

MMOs just continue to build on the base whereas other game types completely throw out everything and start over to get you to buy in and give them PROFIT. Either way, they are still gonna get your cash (since they don't have it in the kindness of their hearts to give you all that new content for free since you ponied up the cash originally for their game.)

Come on just because its not in its glory days anymore doesn't mean its going anywhere.

Even with this drop in subscribers it still has more players than games like EVE or SC2. I stoped playing the game last fall but I would still like to pick it up again next time I have free time and there are no really good games expected to come out soon.

Wow is still a fun game only some of us have stuff like work and university to worry about. There is simply no time for me to play it now like I once did.

However, I will say that some of the free to play MMO's are really fun and they are making pretty decent cash. Global Agenda always has tones of people playing and the PVP is really fun.

Awww I'm so upset. I'm gonna go play a video game that I didn't set aside my day for LOL
If you feel that my finger was pointed at you, you have to ask YOURSELF why...don't look at me for your own issues.
I spoke generally, and you took it personal...thats your issue man!

Funny how I said this was beginning to happen with WoW, and I got bashed like no other. It's only a matter of time before GW2 and TOR really make a dent in their population.

What do they expect, with their income they should have more content at faster rates, instead they've been patching less content with larger gaps inbetween them. Many other MMOs out there patch content in every month. Yet WoW's, last 3 major content patches were ~8 months apart. They blamed Cataclysm, but then took forever to release Firelands. Cataclysm was clearly not the issue.

Fireland's content was also way to easy, including hard modes, and there was very little content to see. The higher end players have already cleared all hard modes, and now they must farm the content for another 8 months, likely getting BIS gear in a few weeks. The lower end characters have already cleared all easy modes, and do not have the guild to clear hard modes. So everyone just sits around farming the same content for another 8 months. That sounds like a blast especially since you get gear incredibly fast in Cataclysm... oh wait no it doesn't.

WoW has been going downhill since Pre-BC.

The people who have cleared 7/7 heroic make up less than 1% of the total raiding population. I would say there is probably at least 75% of the raiding population that have yet to clear 7/7 normal modes.
