ASUS Formula V or GA-990FXA-UD7 - Page 2

It's simple, first you have to ask yourselves what do need?

Are you going to use 4 GPU's (exclude 6990 and 590)? Yes --> UD7
No --> CH5F or UD5

As people said, gigabyte has problems with the vdroop and vboost issue.

Go with CH5F.

Hey Erick - yes by the time i have this rig fully sorted i wish to have it running Tri-Fire 6970's. So thats why im leaning to the UD7.

And as for the fan headers - my case is the NZXT Phantom and it has the onboard 5 fan controller. So currently im only using the CPU header with a splitter to run the twin fans on my D14 cooler!!

Hello everyone! I just read some topics here about CHVF vs UD7. I want to build this:

- Coolermaster HAF 932 Advanced
- AMD Phenom II X6 1100T
- Sapphire Radeon HD6870 1GΒ Vapor-X
- Kingston 4GB HyperX Genesis 1600Mhz
- Antec High Current Gamer 900
- Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS

And I really don't know which mobo to use! At first I wanted CHVF, but I read that it has some problems and gives you many bsod and suggested UD7. Now I read here that UD7 has vdroop and vboost issues (As I read this is the difference in voltage in bios and cpu-z???) (also heard it's more stable). I want this for gaming and MAYBE some overclocking in the future.

Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance
