Steam store SLOW, no solution.

Thread Starter
I have come here from HardOCP, nobody can help me with this problem. There was a thread I found here that is the same issue I have

http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/69...ng-slowly.html

Although that was a year ago and nobody helped them either..

Starting early this week every part of steam loads very slowly through the client. It seems as if I am on a very slow connection through steam, if I use my browser to go to any other site including steam it loads just fine and very quickly. But when I access any kind of web content through the steam client it is very slow, what shows up is just a gray blank page, then a few minutes later it finally loads the content. I have tried deleting cache, and other things for steam to rebuild itself and it has not helped at all. My firewall settings have not changed either.

Reinstalled windows 7, did nothing. The Steam client is still appearing to fetch web content slowly, it takes a very long time to get anything from the store page. Even when viewing my games in grid mode the icons aren't there, ~ two minutes later they start to appear, as if it is connecting very slowly. No I do not have a slow internet connection, everything has been instant for years and I never had one problem. Two other people in my house use steam and they have not had this problem. It cant be a problem with my drives, I just bought a SSD and a new HDD, nothing has helped me!

If you reformatted what else is there really to do? I would say reinstall steam or delete your *.blob files in Steam folder, but reformatting would obviously take care of both of those. I would go to the Steam forums, the most likely place someone would have a clue how to help you.
