Are you a 'proper' typist? - Page 8

I use all my fingers but that comes from lazyness, I still look at my keyboard when typing even though I can probably do it without.

Yes. The only difference that repetitively occurs is that I use my ring finger instead of my pinky finger to hit the backspace (I find it faster and more comfortable that way). I play piano and am accustomed to using all of my fingers.

Are you supposed to use your pinky for backspace?

I don't have to move my wrist if I use my ring finger, but I have to move my whole hand to hit it with my pinky.

I have a bad habit of typing with two fingers for most of my letter keys. Shift is mostly done with my pinky and the space bar is always my thumb. My accuracy would be a little better, but my keyboard is old >.< Some of the keys don't like to work all the time. My typing speed varies though, I have seen up to 115ish and as low as 80. Thank you years of EverQuest and needing to type without looking at the keyboard or you would cause the raid to wipe!

I only use my left hand. Right hand is for Shift modifiers etc; I can get around 80~ WPM without any mistakes.

I type properly for the most part, but I don't necessarily follow the usual taught "home row" rule all the time. Occasionally I do type with only several select fingers depending on my mood and what I'm typing. If I'm at work, I get lazy and type up addresses and stuff with one hand. If I'm on a tight deadline I'll go into turbo mode, with the keyboard close to me and using all fingers.

I took a single typing class in high school, but I already knew how to type. I chose to take it just because it was such a joke of an easy class. The teacher used to just pull me away from the daily class routine and had me play typing games against him that used bigger words and full paragraphs. I remember I used to outpace him all the time, best I scored was 123wpm at 98% accuracy. Had the program allowed me to backspace, I very likely would have scored 100% on that. On average I'd say I do 100wpm at 100% accuracy, correcting as I go. I very rarely look at the keyboard.
