Help with my Athlon II X3 455 overclock

Thread Starter
Here is what I have set right now.
FSB 225
HT x9
CPUVoltage 1.4325
RAM - 667 8-8-8-24 voltage 1.5325
chipset voltage 1.125

I can use cs5, lightroom and stream netflix all at once, but can't get through 5 minutes of AMD overdrive stability test.

All settings were done in bios.

Raising your FSB will put HTT and CPU-NB speeds out of spec. Be sure you're adjusting them to stay around stock 2000 while you test your CPU.

Also you may need to bump your NB volts.

Thanks for the reply.

I put the multipler at a 9 and it shows it to be around 2025. Do I need to drop it lower? I raised NB volts to 1.125 from 1.10. More you think?

Thanks for your help.

9x for HT? What about CPU-NB (AKA NB frequency)? You'll want to OC your CPU/NB also but for now keep it stock 2000-ish.

Start using OCCT to test, it is quick and sensitive, see if you pass. If it passes see if you can pass 3x runs of Vantage CPU tests, which in my experience fail unstable AMD systems very quickly. Report back what you find.

Passed OCCT test. Downloading Vantage CPU right now. Changed RAM timings manually to stock and added a little voltage to NB. Running stable now at 3.712 ghz.

I just got the exact same athlon 455 this morning and it unlocked to a phenom x4.
