i7 2600k + H70 OC Temps Help!! - Page 3

post #21 of 35
Here are some changes I would recommend before proceeding:

C1E = Enable
Duty Control = Extreme (If avilable)
CPU Current Capability = 140% (don't worry about the RED)
VCCIO = 1.1250v
VCCSA = AUTO

Now we can go ahead and see what's causing those high temps,

have you tried a reseat?

what TIM are you using?

How did you apply the TIM?

Attempted reseating and different TIMs Currently using Indigo Extreme, Applied with the normal burn in process.

Will change to those settings now, hoping for some change.

also just noticed my mobo takes an 8pin power for the cpu but apparently Ive only got a 4 pin in there could this be causing a major problem?

lol at the 4pin, that is probably why you can't overclock the cpu. The 8pin provides all the power you need to overclock that cpu, a 4pin will hinder that greatly. The power delivery will be different between 4pin and 8pin, it's obviously much less with a 4pin therefore reducing the chance for good moderate overclock.

EDIT:

I may be wrong but that's what I think.

i mean Ive achieved clocks ATM of up to 5.0 but temps were to high, curious if it could be under vaulting and producing more heat?

1: set your H70 fans as intake like many said, also put a dust filter before those fans or your rad will clutter with dust very fast...

2: use the 8pin, you'll have more stable power supply to your cpu / will have to use a bit less vcore to get it stable

More importantly what was the temps like?

What error code did you get?

What kind of temps do you got on stock?
