[CVG] Bethesda's Dishonored explodes - Page 2

They refer to the AI as "analog AI". They'll have a number of characteristics that are modified on the fly instead of having a simple alert or neutral as you find in most games. One example is that two guards talking to each other will have narrower "vision cones" and their hearing will be duller in comparison to a guard patrolling on his own. Light, mental state, ambient noise ect. will all impact how the AI reacts.

They're trying to avoid having the player feel like the AI is cheating. One way they're doing that is by rarely spawning new enemies, and when they do it'll only be because an alarm went off. When they do spawn they'll try to make it realistic such as having reinforments come through the backdoor of a mansion instead of just magically having them pop up near the player.

They've got their hands in Rage which looks like it will be great. Also, Brink was pretty awesome, despite what most review sites have said. I found it very enjoyable and the team based game-play was just really fun. The gun models were amazing and I find myself just drooling over the detail when in the customization menu. I know most will disagree with me, though.

Other than that.. all they really have are the Elder Scrolls series and Fallout games. Don't be such a downer! This game seems like it will be pretty awesome with some neat mechanics. The whole freeze-time then possess an enemy and put him in front of the bullet he just fired thing sounds fun This is also something that they originally didn't even think of doing, it was a tester.. it sounds like there's a lot of potential for this game.

What bugs? Besides the lack luster conversation and ocasional bugs there, I was able to get through the game on the PS3, AND on the GOTY Edition on the PC.

Let me on your secret. I cannot get by the roach killing part with the BB gun. Game crashes there every time regardless of user account, windows installation, or game file for me.

Coincidentally, the developer (Arkane) contributed to BioShock 2's development.

So far it sounds promising and the fact that Bethesda isn't developing it gives me some hope.
