Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a motherboard for my new computer that I'm building. However, I'm not 100% set on what motherboard to get. I've heard a lot about getting an AM3 + which supports the new bulldozer stuff coming out, but I'm not entirely interested in that. Also, I don't overclock and if I do, it's very minute. With that being said, what are your suggestions on these two motherboards:
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO

GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3

The CPU I'll be getting is the AMD 1100T six-core. I have a radeon 6950 (unlocked to 6970), and I need at least 6 SATA ports because I'm having 4 hard drives, 1 SDD, and my CD/DVD drive.

If you have any other suggestions I'm open to them!

Thanks,
-darkcloud

I would go with the Gigabyte. It's cheaper (unless you go for the open box Asus), has the same features, and is the newer gen. chipset. No reason not to get it.
It's so little!

It's not really cheaper. The ASUS has a $20 rebate right now bringing it down to $129.99, but also has $6-8 shipping. Esentially, it's the same price. I'm biased because I love ASUS, but if something else is better for the price then I'll go for it. Because I have a bias is why I'm polling people's opinion's.

You can get a GA-990FXA-UD3 for $144.99. Only difference is is the 16x16x crossfire/sli but it looks better and its only $5 more.

I think I like that idea. I have the haf932 so a black mobo would look good on the black interior.

Gigabyte, since it can support the upcoming CPU Bulldozer.

Was about to point it out. You can get a full 990FX for $5 more and same price as M4A89GTD (bar rebate), definitely do it. I like the black PCB also.
