[NS] Battlefield 3 Karkand expansion priced - Page 4

Ok, that's enough. Quit acting like expansions for Battlefield are some new and horrible thing. THIS ISN'T CALL OF DUTY.

There has NEVER been OFFICIAL mod tools for Battlefield games, and there have ALWAYS been PAID EXPANSIONS. Bunch of cheap skates.

The bigger incentive (especially if it's extra game content) to pre-order, the less convincing of a sale the game probably is... this is a bad sign to me.

It's already been stated a thousand times. Frostbite 2.0 uses Licensed middleware from other companies. They cannot give out mod tools for software that they do not own.

I don't understand people on OCN. You complain about how money grubbing and exploitative the Call of Duty series is, but you ignore and forgive the same or worse behavior from the Battlefield series.

Are any of you fooled into thinking that this is sane? They are charging $15 for nearly day one DLC, meaning content that they chose to sell to you instead of put in the game itself. Do you really think that this expansion is anything more than content that they are choosing to sell at a later date? Sure they give it for free if you pre-order, but that IS NOT A GIFT. This is insidious and evil just like what Activision pulls, but most people in this thread don't care.

And its not just that. What about the BS exclusives, which give extra power to certain players solely based on where they purchased the game from? These exclusives aren't skins, they are fully unique guns. What about the online pass? Its suddenly okay for EA to try and get a cut of the money in the used market, and more likely kill all resale value of their games so they are purchased new, when no other form of media is allowed the same privilege (DVDs, CDs, Books, exct.), just because the name on the box is Battlefield? I mean they even gave the most BS reason possible for it.

Look I understand if you still buy BF3. My moral compass tells me that I will not because of these things, and I truly believe that none of you should, but I'm not going act like my opinion is fact or more valid than yours on this matter. However, please acknowledge what they are doing, and acknowledge that it is evil so that there is at least some consequence to their actions.

Honestly, MW3 will get my money before BF3. And that's not a reflection of the quality of games, but a reflection on how evil this BS is, and I dislike the CoD series.

This is just flat out wrong. The DLC WILL NOT be available on day one, it is not on the disk and it will not be done by the time the game comes out. It will be ready at an undisclosed later date.

The release date of Back to Karkand is not yet announced. This expansion pack is not on the disc and is not available on the launch date of the base game. Everyone (pre-orderers and those who buy it separately) will be able to start playing Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand at the same date.

Its so sad how $$$ is ruining games, its like Justin Bieber and Lady Garbage in the music industry. And Blizzard is getting ruined by activision. Man... where is the art of gaming? Its like a bunch of factory churned garbage now.

Yeah I got that. I deleted a sentence from my post while editing and didn't replace it. It makes sense now. Hopefully its worded better.

I think this is a push for more pre-orders to beat out MW3 in sales. Why wait to pay for that map pack when you can pre-order it and get it for free, along with EA being able to wave around their e-penis over Activision.

OMG, what a bunch of rehashes and $15 for 4 maps? What a rip off!

EA
OMG, way too new and doesn't feel exactly like BF2. But $15 for 4 maps? What a steal!

I seriously don't get it why people do this. Mark my word though, BF3 will be COD4 for EA; this franchise will be milked to the ground after this.

No one has any right to complain about EA charging $15 for these few maps. We've only had (5?) months to pre-order and get them free.

Ehhh.... I doubt that. Yes, there will more than likely be expansions coming, and possibly a new 2142 release. That's expected. You can't expect DICE/EA to invest so many millions into an engine like Frostbite and make profit off just a single game built on it.
