Seriously? You're on the fence about the game, and their greed is actually convincing you to pre-order?
this is incentive to pre order if anything. don't see how this is greed, don't want the karkland expansion, don't buy it.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Why is that idea so foreign for people? If sales falter, then they will change their practices. Would you rather they only offer the game with the map packs for $75 after launch? You may think this stuff is free, but when they create the game they actually budget money for extra map packs with the understanding it will be used as a free promotion or for money as DLC. Without that setup, those maps do not exist.

Sure, there is some stuff that are cash grabs that take little effort and are a big part of the game. Yet for the most part DLC's, even day 1 DLC's, require additional capital to create, and if they didn't think they could get more money out of it they wouldn't create it.

Of course I prefer maps to be added for free, and when a company does that I am more likely to buy the game. If they don't, it just becomes part of my purchase decision.

To the guy that called me kid what ever. Ive been playing video games longer than youve been alive id bet. But thats not the point. The point is your going to argue over 15 bucks. I drink more beer and smoke more cigarettes in a day than that. Its nothing when the average fast food employee makes 10 bucks an hour.

And hotcarl tell me your the same hotcarlmalone from xtc in bf2

I always love the argument about how DLC or day-1 content would have shipped in the game anyways.

What evidence is there to support this statement?

Day-1 content is there to prevent companies like Gamestop from making record profits by reselling a $60 for a literally 1000% profit.

If it will make the developers, the creators of the IP, more money and not the retail then I support it.

What keeps them from selling a game for 1000% profit is their contract as an official retailer. If they sell it for too much, too little, or too early without EA's consent then it will be a breach of contract along with probably not getting EA releases in the future.

Day 1 content is there to make money from people who are willing to pay for extra content. The question is the value of that content. Some day 1 DLC is something that would have never been there without a market willing to pay extra. Others are a simple cash grab because they know there are people willing to pay for every piece of content in a game no matter how trivial. I put map packs more in the realm of extra content that may not have been part of the game unless there is a business case it will bring in more money.

If Witcher 2 wasn't released i would've lost faith in pc gaming.

EDIT: And Valve, which until now and after 4 years of TF2 its still getting new content and still will (not counting all kinds of mods/contents from community), 6 years of CSS and a few years for l4ds.
