VirusBarrier X6. use it on the wife's macbook... It's never found anything, and doesn't seem to resource hungry.

Edit: And while macs may not be vulnerable to most viruses these days, they can still spread them.

Just saying, the more they catch the better they are and not the opposite.

Also the link to the VMWare article is suggesting you get Anti Virus for the Windows install within VMWare because Windows is more vulnerable to viruses as there are many more of them.

Agreed, I use Sophos on mine. It's Free and professional grade (=.

Or maybe it's not reporting false positives and being that macs are immune to viruses designed for PCs it makes sense. And the wife is really good about her browsing and email habits, so it doesn't surprise me.

Sorry for the trolls in the thread.

Norton makes a great AV and their mac virus database is shared with PC so you'll be protecting every PC you interact with as well. The firewall can be a bit testy so if you have a lot of manual configurations it could take some work to get it to play nice. Default setups are almost never a problem.

The only one you want to specifically avoid is Virusbarrier X6, it's extremely broken in Lion.

If apple made a good AV program, they would sue anyone who made them before for patent infringement
