16GB from 8GB? - Page 2

I'm running on 16GB and notice nothing different from when I was on 8GB. It is nice to futureproof I guess.

The only reason I need 16GB is for virtual machines and testing of them in models for the determination of fault tolerance prior to transitioning the machines into the work environment.

I have a friend who is in the advertising industry and whose audio/video multiplexing of raw data in realtime shows why a triple channel system is superior to the dual channel system.

I've never used more than 6GB otherwise.

Make a ram disk and use it as a super fast scratch disk for games, etc.

Noob question how do you make a ram disk??
currently not worth it. there isnt software out there that will utilize that much ram in a common rig. specialty rig maby but in your case i would say no.
