I'm all for expansion packs every year though to add more content to the game, extended story, and new game modes. As long as they are reasonably price and including in a large package.

If it does require origin, so what? I don't understand the reasoning behind this...
Meh, I wasn't going for specifics with that post. But thanks for clearing that up anyway. Was only trying to make a funny.

Origin = I will not use it period, end of discussion. I despise Origin, like that last bit of toe jam that you just cannot seem to reach with the clippers. And that garbage will NOT EVER hit my hard drive again (well, last time it was EADM, but same thing).

What's wrong with origin? Seems to be working fine on here.

NO, instead they'll do $15+ DLCs every couple-few months

I'm just curious as is why though, it's really just a means to run a game. It seems like the main medium you'll be using anyways will be battlelog. Battlelog is the system I'm not to sure I like at the moment... it takes social networking to close to gaming. If I wanted social networking I would stay logged into Facebook all day.

The fact that I paid, it was either $30 or $40 for Metro 2033 on sale through the EA store. They then LOST my sale, even though I had my receipt, and they told me tough....buy it again.

The fact that its just one more client that I have to run, when I already have Steam that has a HUGE library of all of my games (I'm now nearing 100 games on Steam ), plus I can add non Steam games as a shortcut, so easy access to everything.

How about the fact that Origin only carries EA games? Most of those I have no interest in anyway, with the one exception being BF3, which I can live without if I need to.

The cons outweigh the pros to me. Your miles may vary. But just the fact that EA's support is non existent, and they didn't even care that they ripped me off of my money....yeah not happening again.

It will be much more then just 4maps (and that's it!)

BC2 DLC was vietnam, and that's alot of fun. New factions, weapons and vehicles, to say that isn't worth the $15 is outrageous.

The first DLC is already announced, in the Back to Karkand expansion. The opportunity to get this expansion for free suggests that it will only be around the $15 mark also.

Somewhat ironic? I hope they meant they won't do full-blown sequels each year when they stated this.

Ofcourse they meant full-blown sequels...

Expansions do exactly that, EXPAND on the current game, without charging anywhere near the price for a brand new game.

Ok but a few of the games I mentioned are just re-hashed ports, or the same game slightly modded for online play.
