I just switched from a blackberry to an Atrix and I love it. Super fast!

I have the Inspire 4G, and after 6 months with the device I would not recommend it. Sure, it's big, but that gets old really quick. Holding it has an awkward feel in your hand not only because of size, but the back contains two different materials so you can feel the difference, and that bugs me. It sucks without rooting it, and honestly the battery life isn't good at all, it realistically is terrible. I can last one day, sure, but that is with no wifi and sparingly using it to try and make it to the end of the day. I hope you don't choose this, but out of the choices you've provided I would go with one of the WP7 phones. I love android and my SGSII, but AT&T is lacking in good android phones, and I would definitely steer away from all three android choices.

From all the choices the atrix has the highest specs, the nvidia tegra 2 is still performs very well just under the galaxy S2, has the newest version of android and should get an upgrade to ice cream sandwich once it gets out. If you root it only gets better.

I'm not focused on apps, but does it feel like Win 7 is lacking in that respect?

This is the way I see it: as for the amount of apps, do I really need 500 or 1000 versions of apps that do the same identical thing? Big deal that iOS and Android have 100,000+ apps. 99.9% of them are completely worthless or redundant.

Heck, I only need only 1 good file manager, only 1 good tethering app, only 1 reliable backup app, only 1 Facebook app, etc. Who cares that there are 20,000 media players out there? You can normally get away with only 1 or 2 quality ones to play virtually any type of media ever created.

So all I had left to decide is what OS I like the best, and that is by far Windows 7. It is most likely what I am going with for the whole family when my Verizon contract is up on all our phones.

EDIT: You should have made it a poll!smile.gif

I returned the atrix after just 3 days, it feels cheap, is sluggish and slow, and the screen sucks. once again, just my personal experience.

I had it rooted before it was out to the public, it just now got it's bootloader unlocked and the dev support for the phone is gone. my inspire is my daily driver and it's rooted with cm7.

All WM7 phones are built to MS spec, so all WP7 phones have the same beast like responsiveness.

I have a Focus and I love it. No issues whatsoever. I have had it about 6 months. One thing I notice is the battery life. I do not utilize my phone much for apps and stuff, but when I go to bed, I have two bars left after 14 hours of use.

Rooting is big with Android because most of them have absolutely horrible battery life. People like to control the power specs to either increase power or reduce it; whatever their fancy is.

Android does have more apps, but I agree that a lot more are useless. Here are a few things worth mentioning about the Focus that you cannot do:

Tethering (I could not get the hack to work after the update)
Install a good GPS program that does not rely on your network (2GB max per month)
Wifi Hotspot

I am sure Android can do all of that. The headphones that come with the Focus are awesome too. Ear bud noise cancelling. They even handle 5.1 Surround when plugged into a computer.

Surround has better sound curving if you are into using the phone as an MP3 player, but the Focus is close.

Funny, my dad's phone rooted and updated to Gingerbread (Ninja 0.4.5 ROM) feels fast, smooth and stable even with MotoBlur bloatware on.

yeah, I had the phone when it was just rooted with no roms, no bootloader unlock, literally 4 or 5 days before it came out. my good friend at AT&T was surprised when I brought it back as well.
