Please don't! I like being able to make babies.

Well actually I don't make any babies, at all, but I do enjoy having the ability to do so!

By the way, '975X" is the chipset, not a supported CPU. You have the Intel 5 Series Chipset.

I know I'm late, but I just realized it.

I have a machine I bought through eBay that makes babies. It's actually kind of freaky. It fits in my closet, too!

Any idea how to get my RAM up to 7.9?

LOL I just saw your little comment about babies. Haha oman. Tell it to use a UPS, it might need the protection. :x

But it doesn't understand English because it was made in China. I got a really good deal on it though.

(I think I've been awake too long... hahaha omg wow)

I don't know how to get the memory up to 7.9. Mine is at 7.9, but it's at stock.

Sorry to get off topic a bit here but do you have any recommendations on a managed switch? I'm trying to get my Network+ knowledge up and I'm having a LAN next weekend so I figured it was two birds!

I'm looking at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833150087

My only requirements are: Managed, Full Gigabit, 8+ ports, less than $500 (preferably), but if you find an 8 port switch for more than $500 please let me know.

I also like to stick with well-known name brands too. This is just a little test until I get home and test my SSDs.

Meh, NVM. I'm getting confused. Now I'm looking at the 10-P and the 10-MP versions for power over ethernet which I'm also unfamiliar with. If anyone wants to chime in, feel free.

Well I had about 15 minutes at lunch to mess around. Took screenshots of the C and D drives and have them saved.

When I moved the drives from the Marvell to the Intel, first I had to avoid the Blu-Ray ATAPI device which was plugged into the first slot. Then I just plugged them in wherever I could (in the Intel gray SATA connector). BIOS came up and told me I believe it was:

1: ATAPI (Blu-Ray)
2: No Device
3: Drive
4: No Device
5: Drive
6: No Device

IIRC.

Then I booted up and EVER SINCE I did the whole "enable AHCI" thing for all my connectors I was seeing an extra screen for about a second that said CD Device or something and then it would continue through the loading process to the GUI. So it worked when it was plugged into Marvell. Now the screen with the CD Device or whatnot is saying that I need to change the boot device or something. I figured it was a simple swap of the CD drive and hard drive but that didn't do it, same problem. Couldn't get past the screen. I wish I saved the exact message but I forgot.

Any suggestions? I'm back at work now so shoot em all at me so I can try when I'm home.

Yeah, the Marvell controller must be disabled when it's not being used.

It's disabled in the Onboard Devices Configuration area. It's called "Marvell 9123 Controller". I think the JMicron 36x ATA Controller can be disabled too, so experiment with that one.

@2C: I'll do it when I get home. It took me like 5 minutes to plug the cables back in. So much for hot-swapping when you've got a tube filled with water and multiple PSU cables in your face.
