Server linux for an intel i686 cpu?

A friend of mine dropped off an old computer at my house, and before I knew the specs I tried booting ubuntu 11.04 from a usb drive, only to find out it runs on the i686 kernel. Its an oem pos, but I could use its harddrive to do a little server work. Can anyone recommend me a version?aefe42ff-27af-f374.jpg

My Painters tape racing stripes make it faster! I hope.

i686 is x86, it is 32bit. ubuntu automaticly selects 64bit when you download it. You have to select 32bit.
