I was thinking about upgrading my mobo, my choices r limited because i want am3 and sli. So my question is what is hybrid sli? This is the board that i'm looking at?

I believe it is talking about 2 x16 pci slots. That's the best I can make of it.

Edit: most are 16-8 or 16-4

That's easy, just get a 990 chipset - does sli and is backwards compatible to AM3.
GIGABYTE GA-990XA-UD3

Or an even better mobo:
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3

For the $5 dollar difference you get 16x / 16x and the blacked out look.
It's so little!

Why not just go AM3+ 990FX. You can run SLI or Crossfire at x16/x16 speeds. AM3+ socket is backwards compatible with AM3 CPUs, and you can run your RAM as well (from your other thread ).
Here's one for $145 shipped - GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX

Here are the other 990FX boards - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...me=AMD%20990FX

You can also go with the 990X chipset boards, but the bandwidth will be limited to x16/x8 or x8/x8 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ame=AMD%20990X
