TFIII 6950 temp check please.

(Thread got no action in the other section copying it here)

So I just got my open box TFIII PE 6950. When I load the card with OCCT the temp quickly hits 80c. Which seems to high for this cooler. What are others experiencing with this card?

Would love to know what other users are getting with the same card as I may need to rma.

(my reply to a question about ambients and my case airflow)

I'd say its around 70f in here. Not really sure to be honest. Its 72f outside according to weather.com

I do not have the 200mm fan on the door of my phantom. It wouldn't fit with the h50 in the rear of the case. So for intake I have the H50, 2 x 120mm door fans and 1 x 120mm front fan. 2 x 200m top fans are exhaust. But even with the H50 intaking its cool in the case. The air coming in from the h50 is cool on my hand.

One thing I noticed is that the cooler on the gpu wiggles more then I feel it should. I compared it to my TF gtx 460 and its definitely looser. I tightened it as much as I can but I don't have a proper screwdriver. I will be trying to pick one up tomorrow or saturday.

Just trying to get an idea of what temps should be like

When playing crysis or something similar to that, the highest I see is ~63c. I would definitely assume something is wrong with that card. Maybe someone tried to change the thermal paste and did a poor job.

Yah thats what I'm thinking. I just tried crysis and it was at 70c. It also keeps crashing but its a janky version I just wanted to try so thats probably why.

Well the card has been crashing in the crisis bench and crisis 2. Can't seem to run either. Crashed in pcmark11 as well. I am in contact with msi hopefully this goes smoothly.

in CF my top card hits 65-68C depending on ambient. My referance 6950 hit 88-90C, but it has inferior cooling solution.
